About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive Project Manager to join their growing team focused on renewable energy projects in Stellenbosch . This hybrid role is integral to managing the development and execution of solar, wind, and other sustainable energy initiatives. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to high-quality standards, coordinating with engineering teams, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the renewable energy sector and excellent project management skills for a mixed-location team.
- Manage the full lifecycle of renewable energy projects, from feasibility studies and planning to construction and commissioning.
- Develop detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation strategies.
- Oversee contractor and vendor performance, ensuring adherence to contractual obligations and project timelines.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental, safety, and regulatory requirements specific to the renewable energy sector.
- Coordinate effectively with internal engineering, procurement, and operations teams, as well as external stakeholders.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions to ensure project success.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field; PMP certification is an advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management , preferably within the renewable energy sector.
- Solid understanding of renewable energy technologies (solar, wind, etc.) and project development processes.
- Experience managing hybrid project teams and working with relevant industry software.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to travel to project sites as needed.
