About the Role
Our client is seeking a results-oriented Senior Mechanical Project Engineer to lead and manage diverse engineering projects from conception to completion in Paarl . This role requires a strong blend of technical expertise, project management acumen, and leadership capabilities. You will be responsible for defining project scope, planning resources, managing budgets, and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality mechanical engineering solutions. This is a key role for an experienced engineer looking to take ownership of significant projects.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the full lifecycle of mechanical engineering projects, ensuring they meet technical, budget, and schedule objectives.
- Lead project teams, including engineers, technicians, and external contractors, providing clear direction and oversight.
- Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and resource allocation strategies.
- Oversee the design, procurement, installation, and commissioning of mechanical systems and equipment.
- Conduct regular project reviews, risk assessments, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Ensure all project activities comply with safety regulations, quality standards, and company policies.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with at least 5 years in project management.
- Proven experience managing complex engineering projects, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
- Strong knowledge of project management software (e.g., MS Project) and methodologies.
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- P.Eng. (Professional Engineer) designation is highly desirable.
