About the Role
Our client is seeking an innovative Industrial Engineer to specialize in facilities and layout design for their operations in Stellenbosch . This hybrid role involves optimizing the physical space and flow of operations to maximize efficiency, safety, and productivity. You will be responsible for designing and reconfiguring manufacturing plants, warehouses, and workstations, utilizing advanced modeling and simulation tools. This position offers a unique opportunity to shape the physical infrastructure of our client's operations, balancing on-site requirements with strategic planning and remote analysis, contributing to a more efficient and productive workplace.
Key Responsibilities- Design and optimize facility layouts for manufacturing plants, warehouses, and distribution centers.
- Conduct material flow analysis and workstation design to improve efficiency and ergonomics.
- Utilize CAD and simulation software to visualize and test proposed layouts before implementation.
- Develop project scope, requirements, and justifications for facility modifications and expansions.
- Collaborate with architects, construction teams, and operations personnel to ensure seamless project execution.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards in all facility designs.
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related technical field.
- 3-7 years of experience in facilities planning, layout design, or operations optimization.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and simulation software (e.g., Arena, Flex Sim).
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, material handling systems, and logistics.
- Excellent spatial reasoning and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders in both on-site and remote settings.
