About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly competent Senior Chemical Plant Engineer for their facility in Stellenbosch . This role is critical for overseeing the operational integrity, maintenance, and continuous improvement of our chemical processing plant. You will be responsible for ensuring the plant meets production targets while adhering to stringent safety, environmental, and quality standards. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of experience in plant engineering, troubleshooting complex issues, and leading engineering initiatives.

• Manage and direct all aspects of chemical plant engineering, including maintenance, reliability, and capital projects.
• Ensure the plant operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all regulatory requirements.
• Develop and implement preventative and predictive maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime.
• Lead troubleshooting efforts for process upsets and equipment failures, implementing effective long-term solutions.
• Oversee the execution of plant modification and expansion projects, from design to commissioning.
• Mentor junior engineering staff and foster a culture of continuous improvement and best practices.

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• 8+ years of experience in chemical plant operations and engineering, with a focus on plant reliability and maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of chemical processes, equipment, and industry best practices.
• Proven experience with HAZOP, LOPA, and other process safety methodologies.
• Demonstrated success in managing complex engineering projects and budgets.
