Senior Reservoir Geologist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Senior Reservoir Geologist to join their integrated subsurface team in Paarl . This role is crucial for characterizing reservoirs and understanding their heterogeneity to optimize field development and production. You will be responsible for integrating geological data with engineering insights to build robust reservoir models and support decision‑making processes in the oil and gas industry .

• Develop detailed geological models of reservoirs, integrating core, log, seismic, and production data.
• Perform petrophysical analysis to determine reservoir properties like porosity, permeability, and fluid saturations.
• Conduct sedimentological and strati graphic studies to understand depositional environments and reservoir architecture.
• Contribute to reserve estimations and uncertainty assessments for oil and gas fields.
• Collaborate closely with reservoir engineers and geophysicists to ensure accurate reservoir representation.
• Prepare geological reports and presentations for project reviews and technical committees.

• Master's degree in Geology, Geological Sciences, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in reservoir geology, preferably within the oil and gas exploration and production sector.
• Proficiency in geological modeling software (e.g., Petrel, Roxar RMS) and petrophysical software.
• Strong understanding of sedimentology, stratigraphy, and sequence stratigraphy.
• Experience with core description, log interpretation, and seismic interpretation techniques.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
