Our client is seeking an experienced Industrial Engineer with a specialization in automation to join their innovative team in Stellenbosch . This role operates on a hybrid model, requiring on-site presence for key project phases and collaboration, with remote flexibility for planning and analysis. You will be responsible for identifying opportunities to implement automation solutions across manufacturing and operational processes to enhance efficiency, reduce manual labor, and improve safety.

- Assess current manufacturing and operational processes to identify viable automation opportunities.
- Design, specify, and oversee the implementation of automated systems, including robotics, PLC controls, and material handling systems.
- Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation, including P&IDs, control logic, and operational manuals.
- Collaborate with vendors, system integrators, and internal engineering teams throughout the automation project lifecycle.
- Conduct performance testing, commissioning, and validation of new automated systems to ensure optimal operation and safety.
- Provide training and technical support to operational staff on the use and maintenance of automated equipment.
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering , Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering with automation focus.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in industrial engineering, with at least 3 years specifically in the design and implementation of automation solutions.
- Strong understanding of robotics, PLC programming , HMI development, and industrial control systems.
- Proficiency in automation software and simulation tools.
- Excellent project management skills and the ability to manage complex automation projects from conception to completion.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with effective communication skills for a hybrid work environment in Stellenbosch .
