Our client is seeking an innovative Wireless Network Engineer to join their expanding technical team, with a hybrid work arrangement based in Stellenbosch . This role is central to the design, implementation, and optimization of our wireless communication networks, including cellular and Wi‑Fi infrastructure. You will play a key part in ensuring robust, high-performance wireless solutions that support a rapidly growing customer base.
The ideal candidate has extensive experience with wireless technologies and a forward-thinking approach to network evolution within the dynamic telecom industry .
- Design, configure, and deploy wireless network solutions (e.g., Wi‑Fi, LTE, 5G) for diverse environments.
- Monitor wireless network performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement optimizations for speed and reliability.
- Conduct site surveys and recommend optimal placement for wireless access points and antennas.
- Manage and maintain wireless network security protocols, ensuring data integrity and user privacy.
- Collaborate with hardware and software vendors to evaluate and integrate new wireless technologies.
- Develop comprehensive documentation for wireless network designs, configurations, and operational procedures.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in wireless network engineering, with a focus on cellular or enterprise Wi‑Fi.
- In-depth knowledge of wireless protocols such as 802.11 standards, LTE, and 5G .
- Experience with wireless network planning and simulation tools.
- Proficiency in network security best practices for wireless environments.
- Relevant certifications like CWNP, CCNA Wireless, or equivalent are advantageous.
