Mechanical Design Drafter

Our client is looking for a meticulous and skilled Mechanical Design Drafter to join their engineering team in Paarl . In this hybrid role, you will be responsible for translating engineering concepts and designs into detailed technical drawings and models used for manufacturing and assembly. You will work closely with mechanical engineers, ensuring accuracy and adherence to industry standards and company specifications.

• Create detailed 2D and 3D drawings and models of mechanical parts, assemblies, and systems using CAD software .
• Ensure drawings comply with industry standards, company specifications, and GD&T requirements.
• Update and revise existing drawings based on engineering changes or feedback.
• Prepare Bills of Materials (BOMs) and other documentation required for manufacturing.
• Collaborate with engineers to clarify design intent and resolve drafting issues.
• Maintain organized drawing archives and revision control systems.

• Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical Design Drafting or a related field.
• 2-4 years of experience as a Mechanical Design Drafter or similar role.
• Proficiency in CAD software such as Solid Works, AutoCAD, or Inventor.
• Strong understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics.
• Good communication skills for effective collaboration, both in-office and remotely.
