Control Systems Engineer - Industrial Automation

Our client is seeking a proficient Control Systems Engineer specializing in Industrial Automation to join their operations in Stellenbosch . This role is integral to designing, implementing, and maintaining the automated systems that drive efficiency and precision in our manufacturing and processing facilities. You will be responsible for PLC programming, HMI development, SCADA systems, and ensuring the seamless integration of control solutions.

• Design, program, and commission Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs), and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems.
• Develop and maintain automation software, ensuring system reliability, efficiency, and safety.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to control systems, instrumentation, and automation hardware.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and operations teams to define automation requirements and implement solutions.
• Implement and manage industrial networks, ensuring secure and efficient data communication.
• Stay current with advancements in automation technology and recommend system upgrades or new solutions to improve operational performance.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial automation and control systems engineering.
• Proficiency with major PLC brands (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley) and HMI/SCADA software platforms.
• Strong understanding of industrial networking protocols (e.g., Profibus, Modbus, Ethernet/IP).
• Experience in system integration, troubleshooting, and commissioning of automated processes.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, hybrid environment in Stellenbosch .
