Lead Chemical Engineer

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Lead Chemical Engineer to spearhead critical process engineering initiatives within their Stellenbosch facility. This senior position demands strong technical leadership, strategic planning, and a proven track record in managing complex chemical engineering projects from conception through to completion. You will mentor junior engineers, drive innovation in process design, and ensure the highest standards of safety and operational efficiency.

• Lead the design, engineering, and implementation of major capital projects and process improvements.
• Provide technical direction and mentorship to a team of chemical engineers and designers.
• Develop and refine process safety management systems and ensure compliance with all regulations.

• Conduct feasibility studies and economic evaluations for proposed projects.

• Master's degree or equivalent in Chemical Engineering .
• 10+ years of progressive experience in chemical process engineering, with at least 3 years in a lead or supervisory role.
• Extensive knowledge of process design principles, HAZOP, LOPA, and risk assessment methodologies.
• Proven experience managing large-scale engineering projects and multi-disciplinary teams.
