Our client is seeking a strategic and analytical Telecoms Network Planning Engineer to join their forward-thinking team in Stellenbosch, Western Cape . This role is critical for forecasting future network needs, capacity planning, and ensuring the seamless evolution of our client's telecommunications infrastructure. You will analyze network performance data, traffic patterns, and market trends to develop long-term network development strategies. Key Responsibilities- Develop long-term capacity plans for the telecommunications network, including wireless and fixed-line infrastructure.
- Analyze network traffic, performance metrics, and utilization data to identify trends and predict future requirements.
- Design and propose network expansion projects, including site acquisition, technology upgrades, and service rollout strategies.
- Evaluate new network technologies and their potential impact on capacity and service delivery.
- Collaborate with vendors, engineering teams, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance and optimize network deployment.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations on network evolution plans for senior management.
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in telecommunications network planning, design, or operations.
- Strong understanding of network architecture, capacity planning methodologies, and traffic engineering principles.
- Proficiency in using network planning tools and simulation software.
- Knowledge of current and emerging telecom technologies (e.g., 5G, Fiber-to-the-Home, IoT).
- Excellent analytical, forecasting, and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail.
