Senior Industrial Engineer - Facilities Planning

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Industrial Engineer with a specialization in Facilities Planning to join their team in Stellenbosch, Western Cape . This is an on-site position focused on designing and optimizing our client's physical plant and operational layouts. You will play a critical role in ensuring our facilities are efficient, safe, and conducive to maximum productivity. This role requires a hands‑on approach and a deep understanding of engineering principles applied to physical space and workflow optimization.

• Develop and manage the strategic planning and design of industrial facilities, including layout, material flow, and workstation design.
• Conduct comprehensive analyses of existing facility operations to identify opportunities for efficiency gains and cost reductions.
• Utilize CAD software and simulation tools to create detailed facility layouts and optimize workflows.
• Collaborate with architects, construction managers, and equipment vendors during facility design and build phases.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and operational best practices.
• Implement and monitor performance metrics related to facility utilization and operational efficiency.

• Master's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in industrial engineering, with a significant focus on facility planning and layout design.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) and simulation tools.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, material handling systems, and ergonomics.
• Experience with project management and coordinating complex engineering initiatives.
