Production Engineer - Oil & Gas Field Development

Our client is looking for a dedicated Production Engineer to join their team in Stellenbosch , focusing on optimizing the performance of oil and gas production facilities. You will be responsible for monitoring production operations, troubleshooting issues, and implementing strategies to maximize hydrocarbon recovery and ensure efficient operations. This role requires a solid understanding of production systems, artificial lift methods, and surface facilities within the oil and gas sector.

• Monitor and analyze production rates, pressures, and fluid properties to optimize well performance.
• Identify and diagnose production problems, such as artificial lift failures, sand production, or scaling.
• Implement strategies to enhance oil and gas recovery, including artificial lift system design and optimization.
• Oversee routine maintenance and troubleshoot issues with production equipment and facilities.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and safety standards in all production operations.
• Collaborate with reservoir engineers and drilling engineers on production optimization and field development plans.

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in production engineering within the oil and gas industry.
• Proficiency in production software and analysis techniques.
• Strong knowledge of artificial lift systems (e.g., ESPs, rod pumps, gas lift).
• Experience with production forecasting and surface facility operations.
