Industrial Engineer - Facilities Layout

About the Role Our client is seeking a skilled Industrial Engineer with expertise in Facilities Layout and Material Flow to join their team in Paarl . This role is essential for optimizing the physical arrangement of manufacturing plants and distribution centers to enhance efficiency, safety, and productivity. You will be responsible for designing and re-designing facility layouts, analyzing material handling systems, and implementing solutions that streamline operations and reduce costs.

The ideal candidate will possess strong spatial reasoning abilities, proficiency in layout design software, and a deep understanding of ergonomic principles and lean flow concepts.

• Design, develop, and implement optimal facility layouts for manufacturing plants, warehouses, and distribution centers.
• Analyze and improve material flow, material handling systems, and logistics within facilities.
• Utilize CAD software and simulation tools to create layouts, visualize material flow, and evaluate design alternatives.
• Ensure layouts comply with safety regulations, ergonomic best practices, and operational efficiency goals.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and safety teams during facility design and modification projects.
• Develop justifications for layout changes, including cost-benefit analysis and ROI calculations.

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related discipline.
