Telecommunications Network Planner

Our client, a prominent telecommunications infrastructure company, is seeking a meticulous Telecommunications Network Planner for their operations in Stellenbosch, Western Cape . This hybrid role combines strategic planning and design activities, which can often be performed remotely, with essential on-site meetings and site assessments. You will be instrumental in developing long-term network expansion strategies, capacity planning, and the design of efficient and scalable telecommunications networks.

Your expertise will guide the deployment of new services and technologies, ensuring our network infrastructure meets future demands. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, possesses strong spatial planning skills, and has a comprehensive understanding of telecommunications network architecture and deployment processes. • Develop long-term strategic plans for network growth and expansion, considering market trends and technological advancements.
• Conduct capacity planning for various network segments, including core, transport, and access layers.

• Create detailed network blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and deployment teams to translate plans into actionable project scopes.

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Telecommunications, Civil), Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in telecommunications network design and planning.
• Proven experience in capacity planning and network architecture development.
• Strong understanding of various telecommunications technologies (e.g., fiber optics, wireless, IP networking).
• Proficiency with network planning tools and GIS software.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking abilities.
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to liaise with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
