Project Engineer - Municipal Services Development

This role is crucial for managing and executing projects related to water, sanitation, and roads within local government contexts. You will be involved in all phases of project delivery, from initial planning and design through to construction supervision and commissioning.

• Manage the planning, design, and implementation of municipal infrastructure projects, including water supply networks, wastewater treatment, and road upgrades.
• Prepare project scopes, budgets, and schedules.
• Oversee construction activities, ensuring compliance with design specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.
• Liaise effectively with municipal clients, contractors, consultants, and community stakeholders.
• Conduct site inspections and provide technical support during the construction phase.
• Review project documentation, including drawings, reports, and contract correspondence.
• Identify and mitigate project risks and resolve technical issues that arise.
• Ensure projects are completed within approved timelines and financial constraints for clients in Paarl .
• Contribute to proposal development and business development efforts.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and technicians working on projects.

• Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng) or
  
  B.Sc. in Civil Engineering.
• Professional registration with ECSA as a Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) or Candidate Engineer (Pr Engr).
• A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in municipal engineering projects and project management.
• Proven experience in the design and/or supervision of water, sanitation, or roads infrastructure.
• Familiarity with municipal engineering standards, procedures, and procurement processes in South Africa.
• Proficiency in relevant engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, relevant hydraulic modeling software).
• Strong project management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
• Experience working with local government clients is highly desirable.
• Valid driver's license.
