Industrial Engineer - Operations Efficiency

A leading agribusiness in the fertile region of Paarl, Western Cape , is seeking a dedicated Industrial Engineer to drive operational efficiency across its processing and logistics functions. This role is critical for analyzing workflows, implementing process improvements, and ensuring the smooth and cost-effective operation of our facilities. • Analyze current operational processes in processing plants and logistics operations to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
• Develop and implement strategies to optimize workflows, material handling, and resource utilization.
• Conduct time studies, capacity analyses, and cost-benefit assessments for proposed improvements.
• Utilize Lean Six Sigma methodologies to drive waste reduction and enhance quality.
• Design and implement improved plant layouts and operational procedures.
• Collaborate with operations managers, supervisors, and frontline staff to ensure successful implementation of changes.
• Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for operational efficiency and productivity.
• Prepare detailed reports on process performance, savings achieved, and project outcomes.
• Ensure all operational processes comply with industry-specific regulations, including food safety and environmental standards.
• Provide training and guidance to operational teams on new processes and best practices.

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in industrial engineering, with a strong focus on operations and process improvement.
• Proven experience in applying Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative skills.
• Proficiency in process mapping, simulation tools, and data analysis software.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence change at all levels.
• Experience working within the agricultural or food processing industry is highly desirable.
• Understanding of supply chain and logistics operations within the Paarl region.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
