Senior Civil Engineer - Water & Sanitation Infrastructure

Our client is a distinguished engineering consultancy specializing in the planning, design, and implementation of critical water and sanitation infrastructure. We are seeking a Senior Civil Engineer with extensive experience in water resource management and infrastructure projects to join our team in Stellenbosch, Western Cape . This role is crucial for leading the design and project management of water treatment plants, distribution networks, wastewater systems, and associated infrastructure.

• Lead the conceptualization, design, and implementation of water supply and sanitation infrastructure projects.
• Perform hydraulic modeling, analysis, and design for water distribution networks, pipelines, and treatment processes.
• Oversee the design of wastewater collection systems, pumping stations, and treatment facilities.
• Manage project teams, including engineers, technicians, and designers, ensuring quality and timely delivery.
• Develop project scopes, budgets, and schedules, and monitor project performance against these parameters.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental regulations, building codes, and industry standards.
• Liaise with clients, government authorities, and other stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.
• Prepare technical reports, specifications, drawings, and tender documentation.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance on water and wastewater engineering challenges.
• Conduct site visits for project oversight, problem-solving, and quality assurance.

• A Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Water Engineering or Environmental Engineering.
• A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in the design and management of water and sanitation infrastructure projects.
• Demonstrated experience in the design of water treatment plants, distribution systems, and wastewater management facilities.
• Proficiency in hydraulic modeling software (e.g., EPANET, WaterGEMS) and CAD software.
• Strong understanding of environmental regulations and water quality standards in South Africa.
• Excellent project management, leadership, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively under pressure.
• Professional Engineer (Pr.Eng.) registration with ECSA is essential.
• Experience with dam design or riverine engineering is an advantage.
