Event Operations Manager - Sports Events

About the Role

Our client, a renowned sports event management company in Stellenbosch , is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Event Operations Manager . This role is critical in ensuring the seamless execution of major sports events, from initial planning through to post-event analysis. You will oversee all logistical aspects, including venue management, staffing, safety, and stakeholder coordination, ensuring that events are delivered to the highest standards of quality and participant satisfaction within the vibrant Western Cape region.

• Manage all logistical and operational aspects of sports events, including venue selection, setup, and breakdown.
• Develop and implement comprehensive event operational plans, timelines, and budgets.
• Coordinate with external vendors, suppliers, and service providers to ensure timely delivery of services.
• Oversee event staffing, including recruitment, training, and management of event personnel and volunteers.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and security regulations at event venues.
• Liaise with sports governing bodies, sponsors, and local authorities to secure necessary permits and approvals.

• Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Sports Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in event operations management, specifically with sports events.
• Proven ability to manage complex logistics, budgets, and multiple stakeholders simultaneously.
• Strong understanding of event safety protocols and risk management.
• Excellent leadership, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
