About the Role

Our client is seeking a narrative visionary and talented Senior Game Writer to join their creative team in Paarl. This role is crucial for crafting compelling storylines, rich lore, and engaging dialogue that define the player experience. You will be responsible for developing narrative frameworks, writing scripts, and collaborating with other disciplines to ensure the story is woven seamlessly into the gameplay.

The ideal candidate has a passion for storytelling, exceptional writing skills, and a deep understanding of interactive narratives, contributing to memorable and immersive gaming worlds.

Develop and write engaging storylines, character backstories, and in-game dialogues. Create narrative design documents, including plot outlines, character profiles, and lore bibles. Collaborate with game designers and level designers to integrate narrative elements organically into gameplay. Write UI text, tutorials, and marketing copy, ensuring a consistent brand voice. Review and edit content from other writers and team members. Ensure narrative consistency and quality across the entire game project.

Proven experience as a Game Writer, with credits on shipped titles. Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills. Strong understanding of narrative structure and storytelling techniques in interactive media. Ability to develop compelling characters and engaging plotlines. Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in a game development environment. Familiarity with game development tools and workflows is a plus.
