A long established South African retailer recognized for its commitment to high performance equipment and professional support services is seeking to appoint an experienced, motivated, and driven Financial Manager

. The successful candidate will also play a key role in overseeing junior staff
, ensuring high standards of accuracy, compliance, and financial integrity throughout the accounting processes.
The ideal candidate will have completed SAICA, SAIPA, or CIMA articles
, with a minimum of three years’ experience
. A professional qualification is preferred. The individual must demonstrate a strong can do attitude

Duties and Responsibilities- Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
- Review monthly bookkeeping to ensure all financial transactions - sales, purchases, receipts, and payments—are accurately and timeously captured.
- Ensure all financial entries are supported with correct and complete documentation.
- Review and finalize bank reconciliations.
- Review and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare and review accounting work required for annual financial statement compilations.
- Handle and write up complex accounting records when required.
- Calculate VAT, PAYE, and other statutory requirements in line with SARS obligations.
- Review Debtors and Creditors reconciliations monthly.
- Oversee payroll reviews and other monthly financial routines.
- Remain up to date with relevant laws, regulations, and financial legislation to ensure compliance.
- Manage petty cash effectively.
- Maintain and update the fixed asset register.
- Review invoicing and payments for accuracy and proper authorization.
- Manage and maintain the organization’s ERP systems, ensuring accurate financial data flow and system integrity.
- Oversee and review operational activities from a financial perspective to support sound decision.
- Perform ad hoc financial duties and tasks as required.
- BAccounting Accounting, BCom Management Accounting or similar.
- Professional qualification will be an advantage.
- Completed SAICA, CIMA, or SAIPA articles.
- Minimum 5 years experience.
- Related sector experience a benefit.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- ERP Accounting systems experience a plus, particularly Oracle Netsuite.
- Accounting system experience with Quickbooks, Xero, Smart IT, will be a plus.
- R600,000 to R pa cost to company, depending on experience.
