Financial Accountant

Job Description:

• Take ownership of the full accounting function across multiple investment entities
• Prepare and post month-end journals
• Maintain loan schedules and ensure alignment with accounting records and agreements
• Assist with the preparation and review of annual financial statements

• Review billing reports and ensure invoicing accuracy
• Manage monthly invoicing processes and annual contract escalations
• Monitor debtor accounts and follow up on outstanding balances
  
  Review rental invoicing and maintain supporting schedules

• Prepare and submit VAT returns for local and international entities
• Assist with tax calculations and tax return submissions
• Prepare audit files and liaise with external auditors
• Ensure accuracy and compliance across the finance function

• Review and approve weekly payments
• Maintain accurate loan schedules and supporting records
• Support the Investments Finance Team with financial controls and operational finance requirements

• Partner closely with the CFO and Financial Manager on strategic and operational finance projects
• Contribute to process improvements and finance-related initiatives
• Gain exposure to a diverse portfolio of investment entities and transactions

• Completed articles with approximately 2 years' post-articles experience
• Exposure to financial accounting, reporting, tax, audits, and reconciliations
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Ability to manage multiple entities and priorities simultaneously
• Strong Excel skills and confidence working with financial systems
• Excellent organisational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with a range of stakeholders
