Position: Internal Banker )

Overview:

Internal Banker for the Private Banking division of the business. Working in partnership with an External Banker by being pro-actively involved in the facilitation, administration and implementation, of clients' deals and requests. Working with credit proposals, and cross selling full product offering. All underpinned by service excellence to clients at all touch points

Responsibilities:

Our client is looking for an individual who is commercially minded, and passionate about client service, in turn supporting the business strategy through an out of the ordinary Private Banking offering. The ideal individual for this role will be mature, tenacious and entrepreneurial. A critical thinker and problem solver with a can-do attitude, and client-centric view.

Drafting of loan documents
Credit for complex lending deals
Focus on growing the Treasury book
Dealing with forex (investment allowances)
Responsibility for Basel (IB) Ratings
Potentially meeting clients with your Private Banker
Maintain stakeholder relationships
Leverage internal relationships
Cross sell within banking
Responsible for data quality & continuous clean-up
Participation in Forums/UAT/Projects
Responsibility for analytics regarding the client base
Mine existing base/increase share of wallet
Running with non-standard guarantees

Requirements:

BCom Degree – BCom (Accounting) OR BCom Law preferred
Understand deal implementation (process)
Strong operational understanding & skills
Client Value Proposition knowledge
Strong understanding of the Competitor landscape
Ability to build strong relationships across the value chain
Cross-selling ability
Min 6 - 10 years financial services experience
Excellent knowledge and understanding of the financial services industry, and global market trends
Excellent interpersonal, communication and written skills
High attention to detail
Proficiency in using AI-enabled productivity tools, such as Copilot, to improve efficiency, generate insight and support decision-making. Applies critical thinking and sound judgement when interpreting outputs, remains accountable for the quality and accuracy of their work
