Tax Specialist

About the Role

Our client seeks a knowledgeable and proactive Tax Specialist to join their team in Stellenbosch . This on-site role requires a deep understanding of South African tax legislation and its application to various business scenarios. You will be responsible for tax compliance, planning, and advisory services, ensuring the company operates tax-efficiently and meets all statutory obligations. The ideal candidate is a meticulous professional with strong analytical skills and a commitment to staying abreast of tax law changes.

You will be a key advisor on all tax-related matters.

• Prepare and submit corporate income tax returns, VAT returns, and other statutory tax filings.
• Provide tax planning advice and implement strategies to optimize the company's tax position.
• Conduct tax research and stay current with changes in tax legislation and regulations.
• Advise on the tax implications of business transactions and restructurings.
• Liaise with tax authorities and manage tax audits and queries.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant tax laws and policies.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Law, or Finance;
  Post-graduate qualification in Tax (e.g., H.Dip Tax, M.Com Tax) is highly preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate tax.
• In-depth knowledge of South African tax legislation, including income tax, VAT, and capital gains tax.
• Experience with tax software and strong analytical skills.
• Excellent research, communication, and advisory capabilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
