Financial Manager | Food Distribution Lv

Kendrick Recruitment is seeking an experienced Financial Manager to lead the finance function of a premium food distribution business based in Stellenbosch. Reporting to the Managing Director, this role combines financial leadership with hands‑on commercial involvement across procurement, imports, inventory, warehousing and logistics. It would suit a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys working closely with operational teams to improve profitability, strengthen controls and drive business performance.

• Lead and develop the finance team, ensuring accurate management accounts, financial reporting and statutory compliance.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling and cash flow planning.
• Optimise working capital through effective debtor, creditor and inventory management.
• Oversee inventory valuation, landed costing, import transactions and foreign exchange exposure.
• Analyse product, customer and channel profitability, supporting pricing and margin improvements.
• Partner with Sales, Procurement, Operations and Logistics to improve processes and performance.
• Maintain strong financial controls and oversee tax, VAT and audit requirements.

• BCom in Accounting, Finance or a related field; completed SAICA or SAIPA articles advantageous.
• 7–10 years’ relevant finance experience, including at least 3 years in a finance management role.
• Experience with in distribution, wholesale, FMCG, manufacturing or imports.
• Strong understanding of inventory, landed costing, imports, forex and working capital management.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems.
• Strong commercial judgement, analytical ability and people management skills.
