Role Purpose:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Power BI and Data Analytics Specialist with at least 2 years of professional experience to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Power BI, a solid understanding of SQL or PostgreSQL, and a proactive mindset. As part of our team, you will work collaboratively to design, develop, and implement data solutions that drive business insights and decision-making.

Experience and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience with Power BI development.
• Proficiency in SQL or PostgreSQL for data manipulation and analysis.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively present insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and contribute to shared goals.
• A proactive mindset, with a willingness to take initiative and suggest improvements.
• Experience with DAX (Data Analysis Expressions).
• Knowledge of database management systems and data warehousing concepts.
• Familiarity with other BI tools or data visualization platforms.
• Experience in Agile or Scrum project methodologies.
• Minimum 2 years of work experience in the relevant field.
• Knowledge of the farming industry would be advantageous but not required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop interactive dashboards and reports in Power BI to provide actionable business insights.
• Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources into Power BI for analysis.
• Write and optimize SQL/PostgreSQL queries for data extraction, aggregation, and transformation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Maintain and optimize existing Power BI reports and datasets for performance and scalability.
• Ensure data quality, accuracy, and consistency across all reports and dashboards.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation within reporting workflows.
• Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in Power BI and data visualization technologies.

Knowledge, Skills and Personal Attributes

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Proficient in Afrikaans and English.
