Technical Writer

As a Technical Writer, you will play a critical role in transforming complex technical information into clear, engaging, and user-friendly documentation. Working closely with Product, Development, Training, Sales, and Marketing teams, you will help ensure that internal and external stakeholders have access to accurate, high-quality product information and support materials.

As the Technical Writer, you will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and improving technical documentation across the product ecosystem.

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing clear, concise, and audience-appropriate technical documentation for software products.
• Collaborating with Product, Development, Training, Sales, and Marketing stakeholders to gather and validate information.
• Researching, structuring, and creating technical product documents, manuals, process guides, and operational documentation.
• Translating complex technical concepts into easy-to-understand content for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Creating user-focused product documentation that explains features, functionality, configurations, and associated business benefits.
• Developing configuration support documentation and technical manuals.
• Reviewing and refining existing documentation to ensure consistency, accuracy, and quality.
• Producing supporting visual content, including workflows, process maps, and diagrams.
• Building and maintaining a strong understanding of the organisation's products and documentation standards.

• Previous experience as a Technical Writer or in a similar role within a software development environment.
• Proven experience creating technical documentation for software products.
• Ability to provide a portfolio showcasing Technical Writing work.
• Experience reviewing, editing, and enhancing existing technical documentation.
• Experience using documentation platforms such as Confluence, Notion, or similar.
• Experience using diagramming tools such as Visio, Lucidchart, draw.io, or equivalent.
• Good understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and software development principles.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Excellent written communication, editing, and research skills.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and interpersonal abilities.
• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to producing high‑quality work.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to quickly understand complex technical concepts and communicate them effectively to different audiences.
• Experience creating documentation that incorporates text, diagrams, workflows, and visual elements.
• Highly organised, adaptable, and resilient.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver work to deadline.

• R600 000 to R660 000 per annum, inclusive of pension fund and group life cover.
• Hybrid working model with 2 days per week in the Stellenbosch office.
