About the Role
Our client is seeking a meticulous and skilled VoIP Systems Administrator to join their technical team in Stellenbosch . This role is central to managing and maintaining the company's Voice over IP (VoIP) infrastructure, ensuring reliable and efficient communication services. You will be responsible for the deployment, configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of our VoIP systems, playing a critical role in seamless communication delivery within the Western Cape .
This position is ideal for an IT professional with specialized expertise in VoIP technologies.
- Administer, configure, and maintain VoIP platforms, PBXs, and related hardware/software.
- Monitor system performance, ensuring high availability and quality of voice communications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve VoIP-related issues, including call quality, connectivity, and feature problems.
- Implement and manage security measures for the VoIP environment to protect against unauthorized access.
- Collaborate with IT and network teams to integrate VoIP solutions with existing infrastructure.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in VoIP systems administration or a related field within the telecoms industry.
- Proficiency with VoIP protocols (SIP, H.323) and common VoIP platforms (e.g., Asterisk, Cisco Call Manager, Free SWITCH).
- Strong understanding of network fundamentals, including TCP/IP, QoS, and routing.
- Experience with troubleshooting voice quality issues.
- Relevant certifications in VoIP or networking are a plus.
