About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled AI Infrastructure Engineer to join their growing technology team in Stellenbosch. This role is crucial for building, maintaining, and optimizing the robust infrastructure required to support the development and deployment of artificial intelligence and machine learning systems. You will work with cutting-edge technologies in cloud computing, distributed systems, and high-performance computing to ensure our AI platforms are scalable, reliable, and efficient.

- Design, implement, and manage scalable infrastructure for AI/ML workloads on cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for AI models and infrastructure deployment.
- Optimize compute and storage resources for large-scale data processing and model training.
- Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting systems for AI infrastructure components.
- Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related issues affecting AI development and deployment.
- Collaborate with ML engineers and data scientists to understand infrastructure needs and provide solutions.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 3+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, with a focus on cloud environments.
- Strong experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation.
- Familiarity with MLOps principles and tools for AI infrastructure management.
- Experience with infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
