Information Security Architect

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Information Security Architect to design and implement secure technical solutions for their operations in Stellenbosch . This senior role is responsible for creating and maintaining the blueprints for the organization's security infrastructure, ensuring it aligns with business objectives and industry best practices. You will play a pivotal role in defining security standards, evaluating new technologies, and guiding development teams on secure design principles.

The ideal candidate will have a deep technical understanding of security architecture and a proven ability to translate complex requirements into robust, scalable, and secure systems.

• Design, build, and maintain the overall information security architecture for the organization.
• Develop and document security standards, patterns, and best practices for infrastructure and applications.
• Evaluate and recommend new security technologies and solutions to enhance the organization's security posture.
• Collaborate with engineering and IT teams to ensure security is integrated into system design and implementation.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance on security architecture reviews and threat modeling.
• Develop roadmaps for security architecture evolution based on emerging threats and business needs.
• Ensure the security architecture supports compliance requirements and risk management objectives.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in information security, with a significant focus on security architecture and design.
• Proven experience designing and implementing security solutions for cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and on-premises infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of network security, application security, cryptography, identity and access management, and threat detection.
• Experience with security frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST CSF, and relevant compliance standards.
