Our client is looking for an experienced and forward-thinking Technical Director to lead the technological vision and execution for their ambitious new studio in Stellenbosch . This executive role involves guiding the engineering teams, defining technology roadmaps, and ensuring the successful implementation of cutting-edge solutions across all projects. You will be instrumental in establishing robust technical pipelines, fostering a culture of innovation, and ensuring the stability and scalability of our platforms.

- Define and drive the overall technology strategy and technical roadmap for the studio.
- Oversee and manage all engineering teams, ensuring high performance and efficient workflows.
- Evaluate, select, and implement new technologies, tools, and pipelines to enhance development efficiency and product quality.
- Ensure the technical integrity, scalability, and performance of all game projects and backend systems.
- Collaborate with creative directors and producers to align technical capabilities with project goals.
- Champion best practices in software development , code quality, and team collaboration.
- 10+ years of experience in game development leadership roles, with a minimum of 3 years as a Technical Director or Head of Engineering.
- Proven experience in managing large, diverse engineering teams and complex technical projects.
- Deep understanding of game development pipelines , engines (e.g., Unreal, Unity), and various platform technologies.
- Strong knowledge of software architecture, distributed systems, and cloud infrastructure.
- Excellent strategic thinking, communication, and leadership skills.
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
