MAIN PURPOSE OF JOBTo design, implement, secure, optimise and support Mediclinic’s enterprise network infrastructure, ensuring the availability, performance, resilience and security of clinical, corporate and medical-device connectivity services. The role supports strategic initiatives including Huawei network modernisation, Electronic Health Record readiness and deployment, Zero Trust Network Access, secure medical-device integration, cybersecurity improvement programmes and hybrid-cloud connectivity.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS- Design, implement and optimise enterprise network services
- Manage network security, Zero Trust Network Access and cyber resilience
- Support healthcare technology, EHR and secure medical-device connectivity
- Drive operational excellence, automation and continuous improvement
- Manage stakeholder relationships and service delivery
ESSENTIAL
EDUCATION:
- Matric.
- A recognised enterprise networking certification at professional level, such as Cisco CCNP, Huawei HCIP or an equivalent professional networking qualification
DESIRED
EDUCATION:
- A relevant diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
- Relevant vendor or security certification.
ESSENTIAL MINIMUM:
- A minimum of five years’ experience in an enterprise network environment.
- Practical experience supporting large-scale LAN, WAN, WLAN and data-centre network services.
- Experience with enterprise routing, switching, network security, firewall technologies, operational support and formal change-control processes.
- Experience supporting high-availability and business-critical technology environments.
DESIRED
EXPERIENCE:
- Experience with Huawei enterprise campus networking technologies and multi-vendor network environments.
- Experience with Zero Trust Network Access, network segmentation and secure remote-access solutions.
- Exposure to cloud and hybrid network connectivity.
- Experience supporting healthcare technology, clinical systems, EHR platforms or secure medical-device connectivity.
- Exposure to network automation, orchestration, telemetry and analytics
- Enterprise routing and switching technologies
- Network security principles
- Firewall technologies and policy management
- Zero Trust Network Access principles and operations
- Network segmentation and micro-segmentation
- Secure remote-access technologies
- Wireless enterprise networking
- WAN, SD-WAN and IPsec technologies
- Cloud and hybrid network connectivity
- Network monitoring, telemetry and analytics platforms
- High-availability and resilient network design
- Capacity planning and performance management
- EHR and clinical application network requirements
- Secure medical-device connectivity
- IEC 80001 awareness in relation to connected medical-device risk
- Network automation, orchestration and scripting
- Data-cabling standards
- VoIP and unified-communications networking principles
- Disaster recovery and network continuity planning
- IT service management and formal change-control principles
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse technical, clinical and business stakeholders
