About the Role
Our client is looking for a strategic Category Manager specializing in Indirect Procurement to join their team. This role, based in Stellenbosch , will oversee the procurement of non-direct goods and services, such as IT, marketing, facilities, and professional services. You will develop category strategies, lead supplier negotiations, and ensure the delivery of significant cost savings and value. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, deep market knowledge, and the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders across the organization.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute category strategies for indirect spend areas, optimizing value and managing risk.
- Lead complex sourcing projects and negotiations for key indirect categories.
- Manage and develop relationships with strategic suppliers within assigned categories.
- Conduct spend analysis and market research to identify sourcing opportunities and best practices.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements and ensure alignment with procurement strategies.
- Monitor category performance, track savings, and report on key metrics to senior management.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in category management or strategic sourcing, specifically in indirect procurement.
- Proven track record of delivering significant cost savings and improving supplier performance.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with e-sourcing tools and procurement platforms.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
