Buyer - FMCG

About the Role

Our client is looking for a dynamic Buyer with experience in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector to join their team in Stellenbosch. This role is pivotal in ensuring the timely and cost-effective sourcing of high-quality products for retail and distribution. You will be responsible for supplier negotiations, category management, and maintaining strong relationships within the competitive FMCG market. The ideal candidate will have a sharp business acumen, excellent negotiation skills, and a proven ability to drive sales and profitability through strategic procurement.

• Develop and implement purchasing strategies for key FMCG product categories.
• Negotiate favorable pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and consumer demand to inform purchasing decisions.
• Manage supplier relationships to ensure consistent quality and supply reliability.
• Analyze sales data and inventory levels to optimize stock management.
• Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to support product launches and promotions.

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Buyer, preferably within the FMCG industry.
• Demonstrated success in negotiating contracts and managing supplier performance.
• Strong understanding of retail and distribution channels.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in inventory management systems and MS Office.
