Procurement Officer - FMCG

Our client is seeking a diligent Procurement Officer with a specialization in Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) to join their team in Stellenbosch . This hybrid role involves managing the procurement of raw materials, packaging, and other essential supplies critical to our FMCG operations. You will be responsible for sourcing high-quality suppliers, negotiating competitive prices, and ensuring a stable supply chain to meet production demands.

This position requires a proactive approach and strong analytical skills to optimize costs and maintain product quality. You'll be an integral part of a fast-paced environment, contributing to the success of our product lines within the renowned Western Cape region.

• Source and procure FMCG raw materials, packaging, and operational supplies from reliable vendors.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules to achieve cost efficiencies.
• Manage supplier relationships, ensuring quality standards and timely deliveries are met.
• Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with production planning to forecast supply needs.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company procurement policies.
• Analyze market trends and supplier performance to identify opportunities for improvement.

• Proven experience as a Procurement Officer or Buyer, specifically within the FMCG sector.
• Strong understanding of raw material sourcing and supply chain dynamics in the food/beverage industry.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in procurement software and inventory management systems.
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• Ability to work effectively both in the office in Stellenbosch and remotely.
