Our client seeks a strategic and experienced Logistics Manager to lead their supply chain and distribution operations for the FMCG sector in the Paarl region. This senior role demands a comprehensive understanding of end-to-end logistics, including warehousing, transportation, inventory management, and international trade compliance. You will be responsible for optimizing the entire logistics network to ensure efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery of products across various markets.
The ideal candidate is a proven leader with a strong background in supply chain optimization within the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods industry, driving operational excellence from the Western Cape hub and ensuring competitive advantage through superior logistics management.
- Oversee and manage all aspects of the company's logistics and supply chain operations.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize warehousing, transportation, and inventory management.
- Negotiate with logistics providers, carriers, and suppliers to secure favorable rates and service agreements.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including customs, import/export, and safety standards.
- Implement and utilize technology solutions to enhance logistics efficiency and visibility.
- Manage a team of logistics professionals, providing leadership, training, and performance management.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in logistics management, with significant experience in the FMCG industry.
- Proven track record of successfully optimizing supply chain operations and reducing costs.
- Strong knowledge of WMS, TMS, and ERP systems.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- Experience in managing international logistics and customs procedures is highly desirable.
