Maintenance Assistant

Job Description

• Perform general building maintenance, cleaning, and basic repair work.
• Conduct routine inspections and report defects, damage, or safety concerns.
• Assist with the setup and movement of furniture and equipment for meetings and events.
• Coordinate and provide support to contractors during maintenance and repair work.
• Perform basic gardening and ensure the premises are well maintained.
• Inspect fire extinguishers, gas cylinders, and other safety equipment.
• Support the smooth day-to-day operation and upkeep of company facilities.

• Grade 12 (Matric).
• Minimum 5 years' experience in building maintenance or a similar facilities role.
• Valid Code EB driver's licence.
• Safety training will be advantageous.
• Basic computer literacy, including Microsoft Office.
• Good planning, organisational, and problem‑solving skills.
• Strong communication skills in both Afrikaans and English.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Reliable, proactive, and hands‑on with a strong commitment to health, safety, and maintenance standards.
