Facilities Maintenance Technician

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and versatile Facilities Maintenance Technician to manage the upkeep and operational readiness of their facilities in Stellenbosch . This role requires a hands‑on approach to performing a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks to ensure a safe, clean, and functional environment for staff and visitors. You will be responsible for preventive maintenance, emergency repairs, and general upkeep of the building systems and grounds.

The ideal candidate is resourceful, has a broad skill set, and is committed to maintaining high standards of facility management.

• Perform routine preventive maintenance on building systems, including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repair needs throughout the facility.
• Conduct general repairs and upkeep, such as carpentry, painting, and minor structural work.
• Ensure the cleanliness and tidiness of assigned areas, coordinating with cleaning staff as needed.
• Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to all safety regulations and procedures.
• Manage inventory of maintenance supplies and tools, ensuring equipment is in good working order.

• Proven experience as a Facilities Maintenance Technician or in a similar trade role.
• Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance procedures, and safety regulations.
• Proficiency in at least one skilled trade (e.g., plumbing, electrical, carpentry).
• Ability to diagnose and resolve a variety of technical issues.
• Good physical condition, with the ability to lift, climb, and work in various environments.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
