Mechanical Fitter - Manufacturing Equipment

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join their manufacturing operations in Stellenbosch . In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for the assembly, installation, maintenance, and repair of complex manufacturing machinery. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring that production equipment operates efficiently and reliably, minimizing downtime and supporting consistent output. This is an excellent opportunity for a meticulous and technically adept individual to contribute to a key industry within the Western Cape , working with advanced manufacturing technologies.

• Assemble, install, and commission new manufacturing machinery and equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and adjustments on production machinery.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults in various types of industrial equipment, including conveyors, motors, and pumps.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and service manuals.
• Conduct preventative maintenance tasks to ensure the longevity and optimal performance of machinery.
• Ensure adherence to all safety standards and company procedures during all fitting operations.

• Qualified Mechanical Fitter or trade tested artisan.
• Demonstrated experience in assembling and maintaining industrial machinery.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
• Knowledge of various mechanical components, power transmission systems, and lubrication techniques.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a keen eye for detail.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a production environment in Stellenbosch .
