Senior Production Chemist

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Production Chemist to join their operational team in Stellenbosch . This role is integral to ensuring the quality and efficiency of chemical processes within the Oil & Gas industry 's downstream operations. You will be responsible for overseeing chemical analyses, developing new process formulations, and troubleshooting production challenges related to chemical performance. Your expertise will be critical in optimizing production yields, maintaining product specifications, and ensuring compliance with environmental and safety regulations.

This hands-on position requires a strong laboratory background and a deep understanding of chemical applications in industrial settings.

• Develop and optimize chemical formulations for production processes, such as demulsifiers, corrosion inhibitors, and scale inhibitors.
• Conduct advanced chemical analyses to monitor process performance and product quality.
• Troubleshoot production issues related to chemical applications and provide technical solutions.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to implement process improvements.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, health, and environmental regulations.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure accurate record-keeping of experimental data and results.

• Master's degree or PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in production chemistry, preferably within the Oil & Gas sector .
• Proven experience in analytical chemistry techniques and instrumentation.
• Strong understanding of industrial chemical processes and applications.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and laboratory skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a laboratory and plant environment.
