About the Role
Our client is seeking a qualified and conscientious Sanitation Officer to join their team in Stellenbosch . This role is essential for ensuring that all facilities and operational areas maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene, crucial for food safety and regulatory compliance. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and enforcing sanitation protocols, conducting regular inspections, and managing a team of sanitation workers.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, knowledgeable about food industry hygiene standards, and committed to upholding a safe and compliant working environment. Your role directly impacts product quality and consumer safety.
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive sanitation programs in compliance with food safety regulations.
- Conduct regular inspections of production areas, equipment, and storage facilities to ensure cleanliness.
- Oversee and train sanitation staff on proper cleaning procedures, chemical handling, and safety protocols.
- Monitor and record sanitation activities, ensuring thorough documentation for audits and compliance.
- Investigate and address any sanitation failures or non-compliance issues promptly.
- Manage inventory of cleaning chemicals and sanitation supplies, ensuring efficient use and safe storage.
- Proven experience as a Sanitation Officer or in a similar role within the food and beverage industry.
- In-depth knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and other relevant food safety and sanitation standards.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent observational skills and attention to detail for inspections.
- Ability to conduct thorough record-keeping and reporting.
