About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive Chemical Engineer to provide essential Operations Support at their facility in Paarl. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth, safe, and efficient day-to-day operation of chemical production units. You will act as a key technical resource, troubleshooting operational issues, optimizing production parameters, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives. This position offers a hands‑on engineering experience, working closely with production teams to maintain high standards of output, quality, and safety, contributing directly to the operational success of the plant and supporting its long‑term strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities- Provide immediate technical support to production teams to resolve operational challenges.
- Monitor plant performance and key operating parameters, identifying deviations and implementing corrective actions.
- Participate in process hazard analyses and assist in implementing safety recommendations.
- Develop and update operating procedures and training materials for plant personnel.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality.
- Assist in the commissioning and start-up of new equipment or process modifications.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering .
- 2-4 years of experience in an operational or process engineering role within a chemical manufacturing environment.
- Solid understanding of fundamental chemical engineering principles .
- Experience with process monitoring tools and data analysis.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to respond effectively to operational demands.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a plant team.
