About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated and innovative Pharmaceutical Research Scientist to join their cutting-edge R&D team in Stellenbosch . This hybrid role allows for a balance between laboratory-based research and remote data analysis and reporting. You will be instrumental in the discovery and development of novel pharmaceutical compounds, contributing to the next generation of therapeutic solutions. This position requires a strong background in drug discovery, excellent experimental design skills, and a passion for scientific advancement.
You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of scientists and clinicians to drive research projects from concept to early-stage development, working in a state-of-the-art research facility.
- Design, execute, and optimize complex laboratory experiments to identify and characterize potential drug candidates.
- Perform advanced analytical techniques and interpret experimental data to guide research direction.
- Contribute to the development of new drug discovery methodologies and technologies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including medicinal chemists, biologists, and pharmacologists, to advance research projects.
- Document experimental procedures, results, and conclusions meticulously in research notebooks and reports.
- Stay abreast of the latest scientific literature and industry trends in pharmaceutical research.
- PhD or Master's degree in Pharmacology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Chemistry, or a related life science field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of post-doctoral or industry research experience in drug discovery.
- Proven experience with a range of molecular and cellular biology techniques and assay development.
- Strong understanding of drug discovery processes and principles.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and scientific communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in both a laboratory setting and remotely for data analysis and reporting.
