About the Role
Our client is seeking an innovative Research and Development Chemical Engineer to join their advanced facilities in Stellenbosch . This role is focused on conceptualizing, designing, and testing novel chemical processes and products. You will play a key part in the innovation pipeline, contributing to the development of next-generation technologies and materials. The successful candidate will possess a strong scientific background, a passion for discovery, and the ability to translate research findings into practical applications within the specialty chemicals sector .
Key Responsibilities- Conduct laboratory-scale research and experiments to explore new chemical processes and product formulations.
- Design and execute pilot-scale studies to validate R&D findings and gather critical process data.
- Analyze experimental results using statistical methods and present findings to technical and management teams.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including chemists, material scientists, and engineers, on new product development.
- Stay abreast of scientific literature, patents, and industry trends to identify new research opportunities.
- Contribute to intellectual property generation through patent applications and technical publications.
- PhD or MEng in Chemical Engineering with a strong focus on research and development.
- Minimum 6 years of relevant R&D experience in the chemical industry.
- Proven experience in experimental design, data analysis, and interpretation.
- Proficiency with laboratory equipment and analytical techniques relevant to chemical processes.
- Strong understanding of reaction kinetics, catalysis, and separation technologies.
- Excellent technical writing and presentation skills.
