About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Agricultural Researcher to contribute to innovative farming practices at their research facility in Paarl . This role focuses on conducting scientific studies to improve crop yields, develop disease-resistant varieties, and enhance sustainable agricultural methods. You will design and execute experiments, collect and analyze data, and contribute to the dissemination of research findings. • Design, plan, and conduct agricultural research experiments, focusing on crop improvement and sustainable practices.
• Collect, record, and analyze experimental data using statistical software and methodologies.
• Develop new methodologies or refine existing ones for field trials and laboratory analysis.
• Prepare research reports, scientific papers, and presentations for dissemination to stakeholders and the scientific community.
• Maintain accurate laboratory notebooks and field data records.
• Collaborate with other researchers, agronomists, and farm managers on research projects.

• Master's or PhD degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Plant Science, Genetics, or a related field.
• Proven experience in conducting agricultural research, including experimental design and data analysis.
• Strong knowledge of plant physiology, genetics, and statistical analysis.
• Proficiency in using scientific equipment and relevant software (e.g., statistical packages, GIS).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting and presenting findings.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a research team.
