Our client is seeking a talented Research Chemist specializing in Materials Science to join their innovative team in Stellenbosch . This role involves the synthesis, characterization, and testing of novel materials for various industrial applications. Key Responsibilities- Synthesize and characterize new materials using advanced chemical techniques.
- Perform detailed analysis of material properties using techniques such as spectroscopy (NMR, IR, UV-Vis), chromatography (GC, HPLC), and microscopy (SEM, TEM).
- Develop and optimize synthesis protocols to achieve desired material properties and scalability.
- Conduct performance testing and evaluation of developed materials for specific applications.
- Collaborate with engineers and product development teams to translate research findings into commercializable products.
- Maintain thorough documentation of experimental procedures, results, and safety protocols.
- Ph.D. in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in organic synthesis or polymer chemistry.
- Expertise in material characterization techniques (spectroscopy, microscopy, thermal analysis).
- Strong understanding of structure-property relationships in materials.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a research team.
