B-Grade CCTV Controller

Job Purpose

The Control Centre CCTV Operator will be responsible for ensuring the effective monitoring of all cameras, promptly identifying and responding to security incidents, and maintaining a secure environment. The controller should possess excellent attention to detail, strong observational skills, vigilant individual and the ability to make quick and informed decisions. Additionally, experience with Eocortex & Axis would be beneficial for this role.

• Emergency Response:
  Contact emergency or relevant emergency providers as needed. Coordinate with security personnel and emergency responders during incidents.
• Incident Response:
  Respond promptly to security incidents by reacting to the situation and taking appropriate action. Coordinate with security personnel and responders to address potential threats or breaches. Maintain detailed incident logs and provide accurate and timely reports to the appropriate authorities.
• System Maintenance:
  Conduct regular checks on surveillance equipment, alarm systems, and monitoring systems to ensure proper functionality. Report any malfunctions, faults, or irregularities to the designated technical support team and Control Centre manager.
• Documentation:
  Maintain accurate records of surveillance activities, incidents, and responses. Generate detailed reports for management, summarizing daily activities and incidents.
• Surveillance Monitoring:
  Operate and monitor CCTV systems, including Exocortex & Axis to ensure continuous observation of designated areas. Detect and analyze suspicious activities or security breaches through surveillance cameras.

• Candidate must reside either in Eersteriver, Macassar, or Kuilsriver.
• Candidate must be able to effectively communicate in Afrikaans and English.
• Working hours will be 17:00 to 05:00.
• Candidate must ensure to have sober habits.

• Candidate must possess excellent communication abilities and be able to effectively communicate with security personnel, law enforcement, and other relevant parties during stressful and intense situations. The candidate must remain clear‑headed during heated moments and be able to make split‑second decisions.
• Candidate must ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies related to surveillance activities. It is the candidate’s responsibility to remain updated regarding industry trends and advancements in surveillance technology.

• Candidate must have a minimum of PSIRA grade B security qualification.
• The candidate must have 2 years of control room experience and 2 years of CCTV experience.
• Candidate must have their own transport if living in the Eersteriver areas.
