Position: A-Grade CCTV Controller

Job Purpose

The Control Centre CCTV Operator will be responsible for ensuring the effective monitoring of all cameras, promptly identifying and responding to security incidents, and maintaining a secure environment for the client. Dispatch armed response vehicles and EMS or SAPS when necessary. Download any footage needed for the prosecution of perpetrators and complete any required statements. Keep detailed records, reporting to the client all daily activities.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the safety and security of our clients and their assets, utilizing cutting‑edge monitoring technologies. The position is based in Stellenbosch, is full‑time, and candidates must have their own transport.

The controller should possess excellent attention to detail, strong observational skills, vigilance, the ability to make quick and informed decisions, and work well under pressure. Additionally, experience with Exocortex & Axis would be beneficial for this role.

Key Responsibilities

Emergency Response:

Contact emergency or relevant emergency providers as needed.
Coordinate with security personnel and emergency responders during incidents.

Incident Response:

Respond promptly to security incidents by reacting to the situation and taking appropriate action.
Coordinate with security personnel and responders to address potential threats or breaches.
Maintain detailed incident logs and provide accurate and timely reports to the appropriate authorities.

System Maintenance:

Conduct regular checks on surveillance equipment, alarm systems, and monitoring systems to ensure proper functionality.
Report any malfunctions, faults, or irregularities to the designated technical support team and Control Centre manager.

Documentation:

Maintain accurate records of surveillance activities, incidents, and responses.
Generate detailed reports for management, summarizing daily activities and incidents.

Surveillance Monitoring:

Operate and monitor CCTV systems, including Exocortex & Axis, to ensure the continuous observation of designated areas.
Detect and analyze suspicious activities or security breaches through surveillance cameras.

Requirements

Candidate must reside in the Somerset-West, Strand, or Stellenbosch area.
Candidate must be able to effectively communicate in Afrikaans and English.
Working hours will be 17:00 to 05:00.
Candidate must have sober habits.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidate must have a minimum of a PSIRA grade A security qualification.
Candidate must have 2+ years of CCTV monitoring experience, with dispatching required for this role.
