Social Worker, Mental Health

You will conduct assessments, develop intervention plans, provide counseling, and connect clients with essential resources. • Conducting comprehensive social assessments of individuals, families, and groups.
• Developing and implementing effective intervention and treatment plans.
• Providing counseling and therapeutic support to clients facing various challenges (e.g., trauma, abuse, poverty, mental health).
• Facilitating referrals to appropriate community services and resources.
• Advocating for clients' rights and needs within systems and institutions.
• Maintaining accurate and confidential case records and progress notes.
• Collaborating with other professionals, such as healthcare providers, educators, and legal personnel.
• Participating in case conferences, team meetings, and community outreach activities.
• Providing crisis intervention and support during emergencies.
• Engaging in continuous professional development to stay abreast of best practices and relevant legislation.

• Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) or equivalent qualification recognized by the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP).
• Registration as a Social Worker with the SACSSP in good standing.
• A minimum of 4-5 years of post-qualification experience in a clinical or community social work setting.
• In-depth knowledge of social welfare legislation, policies, and service delivery frameworks in South Africa

• Excellent counseling, assessment, and intervention skills.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and report-writing abilities.
• Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations and complex social issues within the Western Cape

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Proficiency in case management and maintaining confidential records.
