Senior Computer Vision Engineer

Our client is looking for a highly skilled Senior Computer Vision Engineer to join their innovative research and development team in Stellenbosch . You will be at the forefront of developing cutting-edge computer vision algorithms and systems for a variety of applications. This role involves pushing the boundaries of visual intelligence, contributing to products that rely on advanced image and video analysis.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and researchers, applying state-of-the-art techniques to solve challenging real-world problems and drive product innovation.

• Design, implement, and optimize computer vision algorithms for tasks such as object detection, recognition, tracking, and image segmentation.
• Develop and train deep learning models for computer vision applications using frameworks like Tensor Flow or PyTorch.
• Process and analyze large image and video datasets to extract meaningful information and improve model performance.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers to integrate vision systems into embedded platforms and real-time applications.
• Conduct research into new computer vision techniques and evaluate their potential for product development.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code, and participate in code reviews.

• Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with a specialization in computer vision.
• 5+ years of experience in computer vision research and development.
• Strong proficiency in Python and C++, with extensive experience in relevant libraries (OpenCV, CUDA).
• Deep understanding of deep learning architectures and frameworks (e.g., CNNs, RNNs, Transformers).
• Experience with large-scale image and video data processing and management.
• Proven track record of delivering robust computer vision solutions.
